 Program Overview   study in america

The College of Commerce and Business Administration (CCBA) at Jacksonville State University (JSU) offers undergraduate degree programs that provide students with the fundamental skills necessary for successful careers in business or graduate studies. The CCBA aims to create business graduates who are computer literate, ethical, globally aware, analytical, decision-making professionals who are in high demand by today's employers.
Undergraduate students may earn a bachelor of science (BS) with a major in accounting, economics, finance, management or marketing, or a bachelor of arts (BA) in economics. A concentration in international business within the BA in economics began in the fall 2001. Concentrations in human resource management and information management/e–commerce are available within the BS in Management. Students study actual corporate case studies and computer technology. Applications are incorporated into class work. The core curriculum in all CCBA programs provides students with the technical knowledge and skills for success in their individual fields of interest.
Qualified senior CCBA students have the opportunity to participate in JSU's internship and/or cooperative education programs. These programs allow students to gain insight and relevant experience into their field of study during their time at the CCBA. Students who participate are able to observe current business practices firsthand and make valuable contacts in industry.
The CCBA offers academic advising and job placement services for all undergraduate students. CCBA faculty advises students about their major, both with regard to class registration and career opportunities. The CCBA's student support services coordinator helps students with job placement as they prepare for their careers after graduation.

Support for International Students   study in america

The Office of International Services & Programs (OISP) assists international students who are adjusting to American culture and university life, and offers advice regarding immigration laws and students' immigration status. The OISP also provides support for JSU students who study abroad. In addition, the OISP organizes and supports international activities on campus and oversees the international content in the JSU curricula. Many cultural activities, student organizations and social opportunities with international content are supported by the office.
The International House Program is a cultural exchange program with an emphasis on cultural understanding. Each year 40 students are accepted into the program. Half of the students in the program are foreign students and the other half are American students. Participants take part in a series of forums, seminars and social events designed to help students gain an understanding and appreciation of the cultures represented.
All first-year students are provided with an orientation to college life and the CCBA through a one-credit pass/fail course. Personal, social, academic, study and career-planning skills are all addressed in the program.
